Fixed ignore regions can hide real layout bugs. Smart ignore regions use Honeydiff's change metadata to find recurring dynamic areas without removing them from visual review.
Smart Ignore Regions are no longer part of Vizzly. This post is kept as release history.
Read articleVizzly now hosts your app builds alongside visual diffs. Upload any static build (Storybook, Next.js, Vite, whatever) and reviewers see the real UI, not just screenshots. Here's why we built it and how it works.
Read articleHot spot regions now work in local TDD mode for smarter auto-approval. We also fixed some Puppeteer issues in the Storybook and Static-Site SDKs by migrating to Playwright, plus a handful of CI quality-of-life improvements.
The local hot spot feature in this post is no longer part of Vizzly. The Playwright and CI updates still apply.
Read articleYour visual testing tool should get smarter over time, not dumber. Here's how Vizzly learns from your approval patterns to surface what actually matters.
The learning and automatic approval features in this post are no longer part of Vizzly.
Read articleWe shipped a lot this month. User-controlled hot spot regions, real-time SSE updates, a branded CLI with our bear mascot, mobile review UI, and the TDD dashboard picked up the current BearDen-style token language.
The hot spot and automatic approval sections describe features that are no longer part of Vizzly.
Read articleWe build visual testing tools for UIs. When our CLI started getting fancy with colors and formatting, I wondered: can we visually test our own CLI? Turns out, yes. Here's how I did it.
Read articleI’ve been quiet on the blog for a bit. Here’s what we’ve been working on: CIEDE2000 color science, cluster-based noise filtering, BearDen-inspired local tokens, hotspot filtering in TDD, Swift SDK improvements, and more.
The hotspot filtering section describes a feature that is no longer part of Vizzly. The other release notes remain useful history.
Read articleI benchmarked Honeydiff against the best tools in visual testing. 9-16x faster than odiff's SIMD-optimized Zig rewrite. Faster than anything Playwright, Cypress, or Percy use under the hood. Here's the data.
Read articleNearly half of visual test reviews are wasted on timestamps, session IDs, and dynamic content. Here's how Vizzly's auto-approval system gives you that time back.
The automatic approval and hot spot features in this post are no longer part of Vizzly.
Read articleI built Honeydiff, a Rust-powered image diffing engine that processes screenshots in milliseconds and provides rich metrics like spatial clustering, SSIM scoring, and intensity statistics. Here's what makes it special and why visual testing needed a fresh direction.
Read articleVisual testing tools miss the point. They treat visual quality as an afterthought, offer basic collaboration, and test recreated environments instead of reality. After building visual testing SDKs for years, I created Vizzly to do it right.
